9th Annual Bob Riccio Memorial Tour de Pitman

Bob Riccio, or Bobaloo as he was known to his friends, was a long time resident of Pitman and member of the First Presbyterian Church in Pitman who passed away as a result of brain cancer on June 11, 2008. Bob was a loving family man who is survived by his wife Colleen and two children, Emily and Daniel. Bob was an avid cyclist and loved to promote the sport of cycling. He fought his battle with cancer in much the same way he met the challenges of bike racing. As an ambassador of the sport, Bob encouraged many young people to give cycling a try, including many racers who will be competing in this year’s race. The Riccio Family, the Caffeinated Cyclist Bike Shop and Racing Team, the Greater Pitman Chamber of Commerce and the community volunteer for this race as a fitting remembrance of Bob. The 2018 Annual Bob Riccio Memorial Tour De Pitman will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 2 to 7 PM. This year’s Tour de Pitman will include a new, shorter course and time change. These exciting changes will allow time for both a block party and food truck festival during the race! Come out and watch the racers fly through Uptown Pitman and enjoy shopping, food, wine, beer, and entertainment! Presented by Caffeinated Cyclist Racing/Pitman Chamber of Commerce, the course is approximately a 1.6-mile loop with one climb. Start/Finish on Broadway in downtown Pitman. The Men’s 45+ race is at 2 PM; Women’s Cat 3/4/5 at 3:15 PM; Kevin Summers Memorial Cat 4/5 at 4:15 PM; and 35+ at 5:30 PM. The race starts in front of the town clock on Broadway. The route is Broadway to Holly, Holly to Cedar, Cedar to Laurel then back to Broadway – about 2 miles. Make it an all-day event and stick around for the Family Day in the Park for the whole family. There will be free family activities, music, face painting, bounce house, obstacle course, and food trucks at the “Bobaloo Block Party” at Ballard Park.
