God's Open House

Coronavirus/COVID-19 Update From Pastor Drew

“Yet I will rejoice in the Lord;
I will exult in the God of my salvation.
God, the Lord, is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer
and makes me tread upon the heights.”
Habakkuk 3:18

To the Saints of First Presbyterian Church:

In an abundance of caution and with an eye towards the well-being of our entire community, First Presbyterian Church is moving our worship services entirely online for Sunday, March 15th. Instead of coming to our building, please join us on Facebook for worship via Facebook Live at 10:00 am. You can still donate online via our online giving page. All other events that are planned for this week are being cancelled or postponed, including meetings, Third Meal on Tuesday, and Jazz Vespers next Sunday.

For Christians, our response to crisis is kindness. In response to pandemic and in all things we put our trust in the Lord who is our light and our salvation, and we set our hands to work. Loving our neighbors – via check-ins, errands, and phone calls is one of the best things we can do. Supporting each other through times of difficulty is what we were built for. If you are in need of help or unable to get things you need, please reach out to your deacon so that we can be of assistance.

Even when we are apart, we are still one body in Christ. We are making plans for ways that we can be together even while social distancing and checking in with vulnerable members and mission partners as to how we can best serve.

Session will continue to assess and coordinate our response and will post updates via email, Facebook, and our website, so please check these regularly as you are able.

In Christ,

Pastor Drew
