If you can tie a knot, you have all the skills needed to make warm, fleece blankets for children suffering with sickle cell anemia.
Where: Social Hall
When: Saturday, February 8, 9-11am
I&O is sponsoring an old-fashioned sewing bee to make knotted fleece blankets and heating pads for The Healing Tree (https://healingtreescd.org), one of the local missions we support. Some of the blankets will be cut and ready for you to knot. Others will need to be cut. If you are skilled at cutting fabric, bring your scissors or cutting wheel and pad. If you can sew, bring a portable sewing machine and white or black thread. You can sew the heating pads which are rectangles with Velcro at the opening. The patterns for the knotted fleece blankets and the heating pads will be available shortly on our church website. Contact Susan Burkart (welderlady@msn.com) with any questions.
