This has been a difficult summer, both in our nation, and in the world. Gun violence has taken far too many lives of civilians and police. ISIS has wreaked havoc in Europe, especially in Nice, France. And we are in the midst of a Presidential campaign that seems to be creating more divisions than healing them. We need to pray – for ourselves, for our nation, for our leaders, for all the ways the world and its problems interact with us. The First Presbyterian Church of Woodbury Heights will be holding a Pray for America service on Sunday, September 11 (the fifteenth anniversary of the attack on our nation) at 7 PM in their Sanctuary. It will be non-sectarian and non-political. It will be an opportunity for citizens of any race, creed, or political persuasion to pray that the blessings of the Almighty will fall upon us (and to think about what people of faith can do to bring the people of our nation closer to the Almighty and each other). The First Presbyterian Church of Woodbury Heights is located at 335 Elm Avenue, Woodbury Heights.
